Our coverage
Coverage that honors your practice.
Plans for hands that hold space.
Each plan is chosen with wellness practitioners in mind — generous on bodywork, mental health, and the kinds of provider networks that actually understand integrative care.
Health coverage for healers
ACA marketplace and off-exchange plans curated for self-employed massage therapists, acupuncturists, and bodyworkers. Subsidy-aware, network-checked, calm to enroll in.
If your work lives in detail — palpation, needle placement, marma points — your eyes are everything. Annual exams, frames, contacts, and LASIK discounts.
Accident, critical illness, and disability coverage that pays cash directly to you. Built for hands-on workers who can't bill clients while recovering.
For wellness studios, collectives, and partnerships of 2–50 practitioners. Group health, dental, and vision with simple admin and Section 125 tax savings.
Independent or studio-based, single-room practice or growing collective — we know the rhythms, the slow seasons, and the self-employed tax write-offs nobody else thinks to mention.
Massage therapists & bodyworkers
LMTs, structural integrators, Thai practitioners. Plans that prioritize manual therapy benefits and protect your wrists, shoulders, and lower back.
Acupuncturists & herbalists
LAc practitioners and herbal medicine providers. Coverage that respects integrative care and won't blink at your continuing-ed costs.
Reiki & energy workers
Reiki masters, sound healers, breathwork facilitators. Affordable individual plans for sole practitioners holding sacred space.
Studio owners & collectives
Wellness studios, acupuncture clinics, healing collectives. Group plans for 2–50 practitioners, including 1099-friendly options.
A gentler process
Five steady steps to coverage.
How Renewal works.

Why Renewal
We work for you, not the carrier.
An advisor who understands the work of healing hands.
Independent, calm, and fluent in the realities of practitioner income — variable months, continuing-ed planning, and the hands-on liability nobody else thinks to mention.
01
Independent & wellness-literate
We don't sell for any single carrier. Our advisors are trained in how integrative care actually gets billed — acupuncture, chiropractic, manual therapy, mental health visits — and which carriers actually pay for it.
02
No-pressure, no-cost guidance
Carriers pay us when you enroll, so our work costs you nothing. Same pricing as buying direct, but with someone who picks up the phone in May when your wrist gives out and you need to know what's covered.
03
Self-employed tax write-offs, made plain
Most wellness practitioners file a Schedule C (the IRS form for self-employed income). We help you stack premium deductions, HSA contributions, and Section 125 plans so coverage actually lowers your tax bill instead of raising your stress.
04
A steady presence, year over year
Your Renewal advisor stays with you — open enrollment tune-ups, mid-year life changes, claims questions, and the renewal nudges so nothing lapses by surprise. We're here for the long practice.
Plan paths
Three paths, all rooted in care.
Coverage that grows with your practice.
Each path includes free advisor guidance and the same calm, year-round support. Choose the season you're in — we'll help you replant when it shifts.

Quiet questions
The things practitioners actually ask us.
Honest answers, in plain language.
Insurance is intentionally confusing. Here are the questions we hear weekly from massage therapists, acupuncturists, and studio owners — answered with no jargon and no upsell.
Yes. Self-employed wellness practitioners filing a Schedule C can typically deduct 100% of their health, dental, and vision premiums as an above-the-line deduction on Form 1040 — provided you're not eligible for coverage through a spouse's employer. Your Renewal advisor will flag which plans maximize this deduction and which can be paired with an HSA for additional pre-tax savings.
It depends on the plan and the state — but we filter for it. Many ACA marketplace plans now include acupuncture, chiropractic, and physical therapy as essential benefits, often with 12–20 visits per year. Renewal specifically screens plans for integrative-care benefits before we send them to you.
Wellness practitioners earning between $25,000 and $60,000 in self-employment income typically pay $0–$220/month after ACA subsidies in 2026. Premiums vary by age, state, and metal tier. Your advisor will calculate your exact subsidy and out-of-pocket cost at no charge.
This is what supplemental and short-term disability coverage is for. A small monthly premium ($15–$45) buys you cash benefits paid directly to you if you can't work due to injury or illness. We strongly recommend it for any practitioner whose income depends on hands-on bookings.
Yes. Group plans are available for studios with 2 or more W-2 employees. For studios that lean on 1099 contractors, we can design a Section 125 reimbursement plan or an ICHRA that lets you contribute to each practitioner's individual coverage tax-free. Both are simple to administer.
We cross-check every plan against your current providers before you enroll — primary care, specialists, hospitals, and your favorite acupuncturist or chiropractor if they bill through medical. You'll never be surprised after enrollment.
Open Enrollment for 2026 coverage runs November 1, 2025 through January 15, 2026. Outside this window, you can enroll if you experience a qualifying life event — losing job-based coverage, getting married, having a baby, moving, or aging off a parent's plan. Short-term and supplemental plans are available year-round.
If you choose a High-Deductible Health Plan (HDHP), you can open a Health Savings Account and contribute up to $4,300 (individual) or $8,550 (family) in 2026 — all pre-tax. Funds roll over year to year, can be invested, and are spent tax-free on qualified medical expenses. For wellness pros with variable income, the HSA is one of the most tax-efficient tools available.
No on both. We never share your contact information with carriers until you choose a plan and ask us to enroll you. You'll never receive a cold sales call from us — we work on a quiet, opt-in cadence. Take days, weeks, or a season to decide.
